Słupia is one of the most beautiful rivers of Kashubia. Słupia trail is often cumbersome, but obstacles are easy to avoid, and sporadic transports. Its attractiveness is evidenced by the fact that John Paul II himself honored him with his presence, which reminds us of spaced commemorative stones. The first stage - Lake Węgorzewo (Sulęczyno) - Soszyca, belongs to the difficult ones. In Sulęczyn there is the famous "sulęczyna gutter". Less experienced canoeists should start rafting down Słupia behind the Sulęczyna gully. Słupia is reminiscent of a mountain river: fast current, large falls to 4%, rocky bottom and thresholds, numerous obstacles in the form of placed dams or felled trees. The stage from Sulęczyno to Gałęnia Mała is not without a reason in the list of mountain canoe routes. After crossing the lake, Żukówko blunts Słupia. We reach the village of Bylina with a slow current, where we are waiting for 30m. We are re-entering the canal which leads us to the oldest in Europe Struga Power Plant (Soszyca) - producing electricity since 1925. We take the kayaks on the left side of the river and re-launch in the riverbed. After less than an hour, we reach the town of Soszyce where we have a well-deserved rest. Here we spend the night at the campsite near Słupia. The second day of the trip promises to be equally exciting. The river becomes dull, the current is fast here. A dozen fallen trees and sharp turns will await us. There are numerous rapids that give character to this segment. Under the bridge on the road Lębork-Bytów we encounter the water threshold. Here, it is worth stopping for an unexpected rain or downpour, as you can take shelter here under a canopy as well as light a campfire. After launching, many fallen trees await us, which can not always be overcome while sitting in a canoe. When we reach the lake, we look out on the right side of the beach and a place for camping. This area belongs to KZFK and accommodation is paid here. Here we remember about the carriage. Next, the river slows down and meanders all the way to Ustka. A nice attraction of canoeing on Słupia is the possibility of ending the rafting on the Baltic Sea with the finale on the beach :)
